Important Program Details
Program Format:This is an instructional recreational program for boys & girls ages 3-10 as of 09/01/19. Kids will be organized into coed groups of approximately 12 kids based on age. Each group will receive pre-game practice/instruction with an experienced soccer instructor during the first half of each Saturday session, followed by game play during the second half of the session. The game is fast-paced and high scoring (3v3, smaller field, no goalies) with groups being split up into two teams of 5-6 kids each, which may change on a week to week basis in order to keep things fresh.
Program Philosophy:This program is 100% instructional and recreational with an emphasis on keeping things laid-back and letting the kids have fun while developing skills and getting as much playing time as possible. We also do our best to honor special requests for children to play with friends or siblings.
Schedule: This program runs on Saturdays ranging from March 28th - May 9th with May 16th reserved as a potential rainout makeup date. All practices and games will take place once per week on Saturdays only. Each Saturday session will last for one hour with 30 minutes of practice followed by 30 minutes of game play. Note: Parents must be present with their child at the field during each session. Please do not leave your child at the field unattended at any time.
Equipment: The league provides each player with an i9 Sports reversible jersey. Players should wear athletic shorts (black recommended) with no pockets or belt loops. Appropriate footwear includes rubber soccer cleats. Each player must wear shin guards underneath socks at all times and bring their own Size 3 Soccer Ball to each session.
Practice: This is an instructional program with an emphasis on keeping things laid-back and having fun on gamedays. All practices will be held prior to gameplay at the field, thus making it a once per week commitment for everyone involved. No weeknights!
Coaches:All head instructors and volunteer assistant coaches will receive mandatory background checks. Please consider helping out with your child's group as an assistant coach by completing the volunteer section when registering your child!
Awards:All kids will receive an i9 Sports Award at the end of the season!
