Important Program Details
Welcome to the 2020 Spring Basketball Program!
To register, go to the bottom of this page and click "Register to Play."
You will find that i9 Sports is an exciting alternative to other programs, because we offer the features you value most:
- Unsurpassed organization and communication. - Emphasis on fun that places the kids' needs first. - Focus on basic skills, sportsmanship, team play and fairness. - Convenience (practices and games on the same day). - Inclusiveness (equal playing time for every player, every game). - Commitment to safety (mandatory certified background checks on all coaches).
Teams and Divisions: We create divisions based off age. Age groups are co-ed in the 4-5 age group, and in all other age groups we offer a choice of either co-ed or girls-only. Play is 3v3 or 4v4 for younger age groups, and 5v5 for the oldest age group. Teams will consist of a maximum of 6 players for 3v3 divisions, 8 players for 4v4 divisions and 10 players for 5v5 divisions. In our instructional format, when we are short on players to form four or more teams in an age division, teams can vary from week to week and kids will be broken up with a goal of creating the best possible experience for all kids.
SPECIAL REQUESTS: We do allow you to request to play with a buddy or specific coach during the registration process. We will do our very best to honor as many special requests as possible, however they are NOT GUARANTEED. Requests will be honored in the order in which they are received. Requests may be denied because a child is too old or young, a roster is full, or the coach is not coaching during the season.
Practice: Practice start 30-45 minutes prior to the game, dpending on age group, making it a once-per-week commitment for kids, parents and coaches.
Equipment: i9 Sports provides each player with an official i9 Sports basketball reversible jersey that your kids get to keep (the kids love the reversible jersey). Players may wear shorts of any type, as long as they do not have pockets or belt loops. Appropriate footwear for indoor courts must be worn.
Awards: Each week, beginning in Week 2, one or two kids from each team will be awarded an i9 Sports Sportsmanship Medal for demonstrating the value for that week. They also will get to take home a Sportsmanship Award Winner yard sign to display for the week. All kids will receive an award at the conclusion of the season.
Coaches & Referees: All coaches, usually a volunteer parent of a child playing on the team, will receive mandatory certified background checks. Please consider volunteering! Coaches will find the experience personally rewarding. All referees are trained to ensure the highest level of professionalism during all games.
The i9 Philosophy: We operate our programs according to a set of defining goals. We are committed to:
• Ensuring the safety of the players, coaches, and officials.
• Teaching fundamental skills (practice plan provided each week).
• Engendering good sportsmanship (sportsmanship value lesson plan provided each week).
• Delivering professionalism by providing unsurpassed customer service, integrity and organizational quality.
Interactive Website: You can register to play, access schedules, view standings and team/player statistics, review game rules, and get the latest news at our state-of-the-art website.
****PLEASE NOTE**** While player requests are encouraged, we will not guarantee placement of more than 4 players on any one team. All requests will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Other Spring Program Details
Everybody plays. Every game!
There are No Tryouts, No Drafts, No Fundraisers, and No Mandatory Volunteering!
Teams are organized in divisions based on the age of the child. Teams consist of 6-10 players depending on age group. While we do take buddy requests, we will only allow up to 4 children to play together on the same team.
Practices are conveniently held on game day - just prior to the game.
Divisions are co-ed. If enough girls register, we will create girls-only divisions.
Our 4-5 age group plays 3v3 using one basket. The format fosters more ball “touches,” meaning more points, more passing, more rebounding and greater development of fundamentals for all players.
Age-appropriate rim heights/ball sizes are as follows:
4-5 age group: 7 feet/25.5 inches.
6-7 age group: 8 feet/27.5 inches, as recommended by the NBA.
8-9 age group 8 feet/27.5 inches, as recommended by the NBA.
10-11 age group: 9 feet/28.5 inches, as recommended by the NBA.
12-14 age group: 10 feet/28.5 inches (girls), as recommended by the NBA.
12-14 age group: 10 feet/29.5 inches (boys), as recommended by the NBA.

Registration/Refund Policy: After the final deadline, any remaining available positions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you registered after the deadline, you may still make buddy or coach requests but they are no longer guaranteed. There will be NO REFUNDS after the deadline. If for any reason your child can no longer participate, we can transfer your child’s registration to another sport or season.
