Welcome to the 2018 Fall Season of i9 Sports Flag Football
Location: Durham - McDougle Middle School
Opening Date: September 7th
Season End Date: October 276th

You will find that i9 Sports is an exciting alternative to other leagues, because we offer the features you value most:

League Format: Play is 5 vs 5, 6 vs 6 or 7 vs 7 (subject to change based on Age Divisions), with no intentional contact allowed. Teams are organized into divisions based on the age of the child. Teams will consist of a maximum of 10-14 players each. Each team will have an hour slotted for games preceded by a 45-60 minute practice. Subject to change to suit program needs.
Age Divisions: determined by age groups (Subject to change based on # of participants registered)
3-8 yr olds- These are recreational/beginner style age divisions with skill instruction lead by our staff each week during practice time. These age divisions will be more about fun, fundamentals and sportsmanship while learning the game. We will attempt to balance the teams in the best possible way although we cannot balance to 100%. To help assist in this balance there will be a maximum number of 6 special requests allowed on any team (based on the date of registration) No exceptions.
9-14 yr olds- These are more competitive age divisions while still highly focused on sportsmanship. These age divisions are coach driven practices with the assistance of our i9 Sports Staff Instructors. In this league you may see entire teams coming in as special requests and that have played together in the past. At this age things become naturally more spirited in Flag Football and balance becomes too difficult to achieve. You may see a balance of teams or one or two dominant teams. Either way there will be a focus on fun and sportsmanship through out the season.
Equipment: The league provides each player with an official i9 Sports Flag Football reversible jersey (your child can keep this). Players may wear shorts or sweats of any type. Appropriate footwear includes football/soccer rubber cleats (no metal). Each player must use a mouth guard at all times during play.
Awards: Each week at least one player from each team will be awarded an i9 Sports Sportsmanship Medal for demonstrating the value for that week. All kids will receive an i9 Sports end of season award.
Coaches & Referees: All coaches, usually a volunteer parent of a child playing on the team, will receive mandatory certified background checks. Please consider volunteering! Coaches will find the experience personally rewarding. All volunteers who register for Head Coach or Assistant Coach will receive a $25 credit on your i9 Sports Member account for a future season. Please register at current tier pricing then contact the office for details on discount. All referees are trained to ensure the highest level of professionalism during all games.
Interactive Website: You can register to play, access schedules, view standings and team/player statistics, review game rules, and get the latest league news at our state-of-the-art website. The website is updated on a regular basis so please check the site often.
Weather Statement: This is an OUTDOOR program and will be subject to weather conditions. All decisions to play on game day will be based on current weather & field conditions, and will be subject to the venue owners decision. If we do in fact have weather conditions that cause us to cancel we will attempt to make up at least 2 games within a season. After that everything regarding makeups will be based on scheduling with the venue owners and how far it affects future season start dates.
