Welcome to i9 Sports of South Durham and Orange County- 2019 Fall Basketball Season
i9 Sports is pleased to offer a variety of exciting features in our leagues:
Interactive Website: You can register to play, access schedules, view standings and team/player statistics, read up on rules, and get the latest league news at our state-of-the-art site.
League Format: Play is 5-on-5, full-court with adjustable rims based on ages. Everyone gets to play every week, with the coach’s goal of playing everyone an equal amount of time. There are approximately 8-10 players per team.
5-10 yr olds- These are recreational/beginner style age divisions with skill instruction lead by our staff each week during practice time. These age divisions will be more about fun, fundamentals and sportsmanship while learning the game. We will attempt to balance the teams in the best possible way that we can although we cannot balance to 100%. To help assist in this balance there will be a maximum number of 5 special requests allowed on any team (based on the date of registration) No exceptions.
11-12 yr olds- These are more competitive age divisions while still highly focused on sportsmanship. These age divisions are coach driven practices with the assistance of our i9 Sports Staff Instructors. In this league you may see entire teams coming in as special requests and that have played together in the past. At this age things become naturally more spirited in basketball and balance becomes too difficult to achieve. You may see a balance of teams or one or two dominant teams. Either way there will be a focus on fun and sportsmanship throughout the season.
Location : All games and practices are played currently on Saturday (approx 12:30pm to 6:30pm): Exact time frames for age group will be provided the closer we get to the season opener. Times will start with the youngest age group to the oldest age group.

League Dates: Play is scheduled to tip off October 19th and end on December 8th. School scheduling always take priority over our schedule and sometimes changes have to made on our dates and times. If in fact this does happen we will notify the league by email as early as possible. We try our best to ensure this doesn't happen however this will be ultimately decided by the venue owners. Your practices and games will be on Sunday afternoons only, between 12:30pm and 6:30pm Schedules will be generated closer to opening day(Approx 10-14 days prior)and are based on the number of registrations. Each game consists of four quarters (time based on age group) separated by a three-minute rest at half-time.
Equipment: The league provides each player an official i9 Sports reversible jersey. Athletic shoes, shorts or warm up pants are required (parent provided).
Coaches: We will need volunteer coaches for this league. To volunteer you must complete the volunteer application during the registration process. All coaches must be certified and background screened. Parents or family members are encouraged to participate as coaches or team helpers and will find the experience personally rewarding. Referees are all certified by i9 Sports to ensure the highest degree of professionalism and fairness.
Awards: i9 Sports end of season award for all players:
