Welcome to the 2018 Summer Season of i9 Sports T-Ball and Coach Pitch
Location: Durham - Githens Middle School
Opening Date: June 22nd
Season End Date: August 10th
Black Out Day: July 6th
You will find that i9 Sports is an exciting alternative to other leagues, because we offer the features you value most:
- Unsurpassed organization and communication
- Emphasis on fun that places the kids' needs first
- Focus on basic skills, sportsmanship, team play and fairness
- Convenience (practices and games on the same day)
- Inclusiveness (balanced playing time for every player, every game)
- Commitment to safety (mandatory certified background checks on all coaches)
League Format:Teams will consist of a maximum of 12-14 players each. Each team will have an hour slotted for games preceded by a 45-60 minute practice. Subject to change to suit program needs.
Age Divisions: determined by age groups (Subject to change based on # of participants registered)
3-8 yr olds- These are recreational/beginner style age divisions with skill instruction lead by our staff each week during practice time. These age divisions will be more about fun, fundamentals and sportsmanship while learning the game. We will attempt to balance the teams in the best possible way although we cannot balance to 100%. To help assist in this balance there will be a maximum number of 6 special requests allowed on any team (based on the date of registration) No exceptions.
Equipment: The league provides each player with an official i9 Sports Baseball reversible jersey and hat (your child can keep this). Players may wear shorts or sweats of any type, as long as they do not have pockets or belt loops, and as long as they are not red. Appropriate footwear includes football/soccer rubber cleats (no metal).
Awards: Each week at least one player from each team will be awarded an i9 Sports Sportsmanship Medal for demonstrating the value for that week. All kids will receive an i9 Sports end of season award.
Coaches & Referees: All coaches, usually a volunteer parent of a child playing on the team, will receive mandatory certified background checks. Please consider volunteering! Coaches will find the experience personally rewarding. All volunteers who register for Head Coach or Assistant Coach will receive a $25 credit on your i9 Sports Member account for a future season. Please register at current tier pricing then contact the office for details on discount. All referees are trained to ensure the highest level of professionalism during all games.
Interactive Website: You can register to play, access schedules, view standings and team/player statistics, review game rules, and get the latest league news at our state-of-the-art website. The website is updated on a regular basis so please check the site often.
Weather Statement: This is an OUTDOOR program and will be subject to weather conditions. All decisions to play on game day will be based on current weather & field conditions, and will be subject to the venue owners decision. If we do in fact have weather conditions that cause us to cancel we will attempt to make up at least 1 game within a season. After that everything regarding makeups will be based on scheduling with the venue owners and how far it affects future season start dates.
Games are played: Outdoors
Restrooms: Available on premises
Seating: Please bring a chair as there are no bleachers/seating at this location
Blackout Dates: None
