Our Sunday Basketball League is played INDOORS inside...
NSU's University School Gym!
League Format:Play is 5-on-5, full court. Everyone plays every week. There are approximately 7-10 players per team, which are organized into divisions according to age or grade level (with some modifications, if necessary).
Division Play: ALL practices and games are INDOORS on Sundays only. Practices take place 30 minutes before the games inside the gym. Each game consists of two twenty-minute halves separated by a five-minute half time.
Equipment:The league provides each player an official i9 Sports tank-jersey, yours to keep after the season. Basketballs are supplied to each team to practice with. Athletic shorts and shoes (i.e. sneakers) are required. Also, to protect eyes and faces, hats with brims and bandanas with knots are not allowed. Finally, each player must wear a mouth guard to participate, which can be purchased at a local sporting goods store or at the court for $5.
Awards: Each week one child from each team will be awarded an i9 Sports Sportsmanship Medal for demonstrating the value for that week. All children will receive an i9 Sports Participation Trophy at the end of the season.
Rosters:i9 Sports accepts buddy/teammate requests and will make every effort to accommodate. i9 team assignments are determined in order by: age, registration date, buddy requests & coach requests. We will work very hard to meet your special request, but we do not guarantee that any or all of your requests will be met. Refunds will NOT be given if i9 Sports is unable to meet your special request.
Coaches: All coaches are volunteers and are subject to a criminal background check and will participate in our preseason coaches meeting. We provide playbooks, practice guides, and equipment to all of our coaches allowing them to focus on having fun with the kids. A small percentage of teams will not have a coach assigned when the rosters are announced. If this is the case, our staff will be contacting everyone on the team to make sure there is a volunteer in place. We do not guarantee you will be provided with an experienced coach but we will do our best to train new coaches.
